1. About Typefree

Typefree is AI voice-input software provided by independent developer Ray. By downloading, installing or using Typefree, you agree to these terms.

2. Open-source license

The Typefree macOS app is open source under the GNU GPL-3.0, with its source code on GitHub; you may use, modify and redistribute it under that license. The Typefree name, icon and this website's content are not covered by the open-source license and may not be used for your own distributions without permission.

3. Three ways to use Typefree

• Free trial: new users can use Typefree free for 7 days, with recognition and clean-up provided by us; limits are shown in the app.
• Your own API key: enter API keys from third-party providers you sign up with (e.g. Volcengine, Alibaba Cloud Model Studio) — free forever. Those services' availability, limits and billing are the providers' responsibility; you must follow their terms and keep your credentials safe.
• Membership: a paid plan in which we provide recognition, clean-up and Ask AI with no setup. One license code works on one Mac.
• Lifetime licenses purchased before version 3.0 remain valid.

4. Membership

• Term and renewal: membership lasts one year and renews automatically each year, unless you paid once for a single year.
• Cancellation: you can cancel auto-renewal at any time; you won't be charged again and keep access until the end of the paid period.
• Fair use: membership is for normal personal use and is unlimited within fair use. To keep the service reliable, we may limit clearly abnormal usage (such as scripted bulk requests or one license code shared by several people), and may suspend the license in serious cases.
• Availability: we work to keep the service reliable but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted; outages at third-party providers may cause temporary unavailability.
• You may not resell license codes or provide the membership service to others.

5. Payment and refunds

Membership is sold and processed by our payment provider Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd, acting as Merchant of Record / reseller). Final prices and taxes are shown at checkout. See our Refund Policy for refunds.

6. Disclaimer

The software is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, recognition accuracy or uninterrupted operation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from the use of or inability to use the software.

7. Changes and termination

We may update these terms from time to time; updates will be posted on this page with a new date. If you breach these terms (for example by reselling license codes or abusing the membership service), your license may be terminated.
