Questions about paying
Do I need an account to become a member?
No. Checkout asks for an email to deliver your license key; paste the key into the app and you’re a member. Typefree has no account system and never asks for a phone number.
What happens when the trial ends?
Become a member to keep going, or add your own API key in the app’s settings — free forever, no limits.
What’s the difference between subscribing and paying once?
A subscription renews every year and can be cancelled anytime. Paying once buys a single year with no automatic charge.
Where’s my license key after paying?
It’s emailed to the address you used at checkout within about 5 minutes — check your spam folder, and please don’t pay twice. Lost it? Get it back on the license recovery page.
How much does my own key cost?
Volcengine and Qwen bill your own account for what you actually use. We don’t touch it or add anything on top.
Can a self-built copy use the trial or membership?
No. The trial and membership only work in the official signed build (downloaded from this site or GitHub Releases). A self-built copy works the same with your own keys.
How many Macs does a membership cover?
One license key works on 1 Mac.
How do I cancel auto-renewal?
Reply to your purchase confirmation email, or email ray@typefree.app. After cancelling you won’t be charged again, and the period you’ve paid for keeps working.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Within 7 days of your first membership purchase you can get a full refund, no questions asked; within 7 days of an auto-renewal charge you can also get that period refunded. See the refund policy for how to request one.
